ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Georgetown University openweight women's rowing team raced four boats against the US Naval Academy on Sunday morning on the Severn River. The Hoyas varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and varsity four "B" each finished behind its competitor from Navy on the 2,000 meter course following winds creating a heavy chop.
The Hoyas first varsity eight, including coxswain, Libby Hambleton, Stroke Lindsey Bragg, Sydney LeGuyader, Meg Ginivan, Erin Carter, Kelsey Wilson, Dasha Ryaboshapka, Amanda Savage, Bow Katherine Farrell finished behind Navy's varsity eight by just over five seconds in a time of 7:11.4.
The Blue and Gray's varsity four finished close to 20 seconds behind their Naval Academy opponent, as the boat consisting of coxswain Lindsey Weil, Stroke Katherine Bruce, Isabel Aguirre-Kelly, Jacqui Snell and bow Anika DeVolder finished in 8:26.4.
The varsity four "B" including coxswain Libby Hambleton, Stroke Madeline Sarason, Maura Timoney, Isabel Baker and Bow Anna Drabek finished behind Navy in a time of 8:53.7. Georgetown's second varsity eight concluded the morning in the water with a boat including coxswain Danielle Valle Fitzgerald, Stroke Jackie Fogarty, Bridget Roddy, Lauren Abrams, Marissa Morgan, Alex Guyton, Angela Nelson, Taylor Dana, Bow Molly McShea. The Hoyas second varsity eight finished just under five seconds behind Navy in 7:09.4.
