The Georgetown University women's golf team fired a season-best 13-over par 301 in the final round and finished in third place among 12 teams at the Fighting Camel Classic, played at the Keith Hills Golf Club in Buies Creek, N.C.

The Hoyas were in fifth place after the first day of play, which was postponed after 27 holes due to heavy rains. After a 34-over par 322 in the first round, GU shot a 29-over par 317 in the second round before its final round 301, which gave the team a 54-hole total of 76-over par 940.

Host Campbell shot a 38-over par 902 and topped the field of 12 teams by 21 strokes, ahead of second place Illinois (59-over par 923), with the Hoyas in third. Wichita State finished fourth (81-over par 945) and Old Dominion placed fifth (86-over 950).

"We had a conversation at dinner last night about playing with a sense of urgency today," Head Coach Katie Brophy said. "We agreed that posting the lowest total of the final round was very attainable and I'm proud to say that we did so. Not only was it the best round of the fall, but it showed us how close we are to breaking 300."

Junior Katie Skinner (Boise, Idaho/Bishop Kelly) was the top finisher for the Hoyas, posting the best finish of her career with a tie for 10th place at 18-over par 234.

"Skinner busted out three solid rounds," Brophy said, "and seeing a personal best from her in her first event since her back injury was very impressive. She was vital to our strong team finish."

Senior Joan Dulieu (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day), who was tied for 30th after the first day of play, moved up 20 places and tied for 10th at 18-over par 234. She fired a 1-over par 73 in the final round.

"I walked the last two holes with Joan and watched her finish with two pars to post her lowest round in college golf," Brophy said. "As a coach, being a part of those milestones are moments that we never forget."

Sophomore Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Bayside) finished in 19th place at 20-over par 236, carding a 3-over par 75 in the final round.

Senior Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) tied for 27th place at 25-over par 241 and freshmen Isabelle Galantino (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's) tied for 36th place at 26-over par 242.

"Alice is always consistent, and Izzy and Eunae fought really hard this week," Brophy said. "It was just a great round for the Hoyas today."
