WASHINGTON - Senior defender Barney Ehrmann (Baltimore, Md./Gilman) was selected as a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) 2011 All-America honorable mention, when honors were announced on Thursday morning. It was the second time during his career that Ehrmann was named an honorable mention All American.
Ehrmann, who was last garnered All American honors in 2008, led the BIG EAST and the Hoyas with 65 ground balls for a team that was fourth in the nation averaging 36.07 ground balls per game. Ehrmann also caused a team-leading 44 turnovers this past season, splitting time between close defense and long stick midfield.
The post-season honors continue for Ehrmann having been named First Team All BIG EAST two weeks ago and having graduated from Georgetown last week. Ehrmann was also selected by the Chesapeake Bayhawks, 24th overall in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Draft prior to the season.
