WASHINGTON - Freshman midfielder Bakie Goodman (Sarasota, Fla./Pine View School for the Gifted) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after helping the No. 9 Georgetown University men's soccer squad (9-3-1, 2-1-1 BIG EAST) to a 1-1 week. Goodman has played a significant role for the Hoyas this season.
The freshman scored the game winner in a 1-0 victory at No. 25 Providence on Wednesday. He scored in the second half to give GU its second conference victory of the season. In the contest at Xavier, Goodman started in the midfield for the Blue & Gray.
Goodman has three goals on the year as well as one assist for seven points to ranked fourth on the squad in scoring. He has played in 12 games with six starts to his credit.
The award is the first of Goodman's career. It also marks the fifth nod to the Honor Roll for a Hoya so far this season.
Georgetown will continue BIG EAST Conference play on Saturday as the squad takes on the No. 21 Butler University Bulldogs at Shaw Field. Live stats and a webcast featuring Dan Helfrich and Tom Greaser will be available at www.GUHoyas.com. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
