Oct. 13, 2014 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University junior defender Keegan Rosenberry (Ronks, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, marking the third-consecutive week that a Georgetown player has won the award. The No. 5 men's soccer team (7-1-4, 2-0-1 BIG EAST) went 1-0-0 last week in BIG EAST play.

Rosenberry led a Georgetown defense that did not allow a single DePaul shot in the second half of Saturday's 2-0 victory in Chicago. Following a scoreless first half, the Hoya defense clamped down and let the offense go to work, with GU outshooting DPU 8-0 over the second 45:00. Rosenberry even contributed offensively by netting the game-winner at 69:59 for his first-career goal. The Blue Demons managed just one shot on goal for the game and four total shots.

This is the second time in his career that Rosenberry has won this award and the Hoyas' fourth Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.

Georgetown will return to Shaw Field for a midweek contest on Wednesday against Providence College at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Dan Helfrich calling the action and Tom Greaser on color.
