WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad has announced its captains for the 2015 season. Seniors Mollie Caputo (Manlius , N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius), Adrianne Devine (Loudonville, N.Y./Shaker), Sammy Giordano (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) and Caroline Tarzian (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) were selected by their coaches and peers to lead the squad during the upcoming year.

"They each bring different experiences which enables them to connect with each player on the team," said Georgetown Head Coach Ricky Fried. "They all have ability to communicate, connect and challenge across positions and classes which is what we expect out of our captains."

As a junior, Caputo appeared in 13 games with four goals and one assist for five points to her credit. In her career, she has tallied seven goals and two assists as well as six ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers.

The Bulldog Award is given to a player that displayed outstanding effort and contributions to the squad, Devine won it for the second-consecutive season.

She was a First Team All-BIG EAST honoree and unanimous selection after starting in all 20 games. She had two goals for the year and led the squad in caused turnovers and ground balls with 39 and 33, respectively. Devine was third in draw controls pulling in 41. The defender earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll in April marking her first-career weekly award.

She is among the all-time career leaders in caused turnovers with 65. Devine is also fourth on GU's season listing with 39 caused turnovers in 2014.

Giordano is an attacker that has also moved into the lineup. Last year, she appeared in eight games with two goals and one assist for three points. In her career, Giordano has managed three goals, two assists and five ground balls.

Tarzian was named Second Team All-Region as a junior for the second time in her career. In 2014, she earned First Team All-BIG EAST honors for the second-consecutive year, marking her third-consecutive All-BIG EAST award. Tarzian led the squad in scoring after starting all 20 contests with 29 goals and a team-best 18 assists for 37 points. She earned two nods to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll last year.

Tarzian is among the all-time career leaders in goals (99), assists (41) and points (140). In her career she has been a IWLCA Third Team All-American and a Tewaaraton Trophy nominee.

Georgetown completed the 2014 season with a record of 11-9 and its second-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. The Hoyas advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and also appeared in the BIG EAST Tournament Championship Game.
