Feb. 20, 2015 WASHINGTON - With this week's winter storm postponing four games for the Georgetown baseball team, the Hoyas have added a game to their schedule. GU will play at George Washington on Wednesday, February 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Colonials' Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia.
Earlier this week, the Hoyas had to postpone their game at GW, originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, to Wednesday March 4. The Blue & Gray also had to cancel its three-game series this weekend with Fairfield at Shirley Povich Field. Those games will not be made up.
Following Wednesday's matinee, the Hoyas will next be in action February 27 - March 1 in a three-game series at Davidson. Friday's first pitch will be at 6 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday's start times are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
Georgetown went 1-2 in their season-opening weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational. After losses to VCU and Delaware, GU used a seven-run fourth inning to defeat Bucknell, 8-5. Junior right-handed pitcher Matt Smith (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) and senior first baseman AC Carter (Winter Park, Fla./Orangewood Christian) were both named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
