March 9, 2015 WASHINGTON - Sophomore midfielder Peter Conley (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) was named the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon when the conference offices announced its weekly honors.
Conley scored a career-high eight goals and had one assist in Georgetown's 15-10 victory over Hobart on Saturday. His eight goals tied the best individual single-game total in NCAA Division I this season. Conley also had an assist and picked up three ground balls in the Hoyas' victory over Mount St. Mary's last Wednesday.
Conley, a preseason All-BIG EAST selection, becomes the first Georgetown player to earn league offensive player of the week accolades since Rickey Mirabito on May 9, 2011. Conley is currently sixth in the BIG EAST averaging 2.20 goals per game.
Georgetown returns to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Vermont (2-4, 0-0 America East) on Multi-Sport Field. The opening face-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
