WASHINGTON - The Georgetown men's tennis squad recorded its second-straight win on Thursday afternoon noon when it defeated Morgan State 4-1. The Hoyas picked up three wins in doubles play in addition to three singles wins at the No. 3, 5 and 6 positions.
At the No. 3 singles position, Peter Beatty (Portland, Ore./Middlesex School) defeated Felix Andre in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.
From the No. 5 slot, Jordan Portner (Ellicott, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) was victorious over Sagar Sathyanarayaman, 6-0, 6-1. Mac Rechan (Clayton, Mo./Clayton) took down William Jay from the No. 6 slot, 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles play, the duo of Beatty and John Brosens (Bedford, N.Y./Brunswick School) were victorious over Duk Young-Park and Evan Ward, 7-6(6), from the No. 1 spot. Andrew Dottino (New York, N.Y./Pendleton) and Shane Korber (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona Del Mar) took down Andre and Treajh Ferguson, 6-4, from the No. 2 slot.
The team of Marco Lam (Hong Kong, China/Diocesan Boys' School) and Portner was victorious over Jay and Sathyanarayaman, 6-0, from the No. 3 doubles position.
