Jan. 8, 2016 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's soccer senior forward Brandon Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./St. Joseph) was recognized as one of the three finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's (MAC) Hermann Trophy at the annual awards reception on Friday evening in St. Louis, Mo.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is presented to the best female and male players in NCAA Division I soccer. The winners were decided by a vote of NCAA Division I soccer coaches that are current College Services members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Allen is the first finalist in program history for the Blue & Gray. He rounded out his four-year career on the Hilltop being named First Team All-America. He was also a unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST honoree this season. It marked his fourth-consecutive All-BIG EAST honor and his third-consecutive nod to the first team. Allen had 15 points on six goals and three assists in conference play as well as four game winners. Overall, he led the team in scoring with 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points. He was seventh in the nation in total points and 10th in the country in game winners.
In his career, he had three-consecutive All-America honors, and four all-region selections.
With a goal against Hofstra University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Allen tallied his 50th-career goal making him the all-time goal leader in Georgetown program history.
In 2015, he was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Preseason All-BIG EAST and to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Preseason Best XI First Team. He was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions and to the honor roll twice as well as earning CollegeSoccerNews.com National Player of the Week honors.
Stanford University's Jordan Morris was the winner on the men's side after leading the Cardinal to the national championship.
After graduating in December, Allen has continued his soccer career signing a Homegrown Player Contract with the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer (MLS). Allen has removed his name from the draft and is officially a member of the Red Bulls organization.
Allen, along with his family and Georgetown Head Coach Brian Wiese, attended the event.
