Final Stats

HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Georgetown University football team fell in the 2016 finale, 38-10, to Colgate University on Saturday afternoon at Andy Kerr Stadium. The Hoyas finished the season 3-8 overall and 0-6 in Patriot League action.

Clay Norris (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) finished 20-of-31, passing for 112 yards. Jim McLaughlin (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) and Brandon Williams (Germantown, Md./Northwest) each had six catches for 39 yards.

Hunter Kiselick (Nutley, N.J./Bergen Catholic) led the defense with a career-high 15 tackles, leading all players in the game. He also had a blocked field goal in the fourth quarter.

Colgate (5-5, 4-2 PL) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, blocking a punt deep in Georgetown territory and returning it four yards for the score.

The Raiders extended the lead to 14-0 with a 23-yard touchdown pass just one minute into the second quarter. They added an 11-yard touchdown pass with just 1:38 left before the half to take a 21-0 lead.

After Colgate's third score, Isaac Ellsworth (Bedford, Texas/Euless Trinity) returned the ensuing kickoff to the 36-yard line and a penalty gave the Hoyas the ball near midfield. A 14-yard reception by McLaughlin and a 13-yard rush by Norris eventually got the ball to the 26-yard line. Henry Darmstadter (Alexandria, Va./George Mason) connected on a 43-yard field goal to put Georgetown on the board and cut the deficit to 21-3 with 11 seconds left in the half.

Colgate answered right back with an eight-play, 75-yard drive, scoring on a 15-yard run to push its lead to 28-3 with 11:30 left in the third quarter. The Raiders tacked on a 32-yard field goal at the end of the quarter.

A botched kickoff gave Colgate the ball deep in Georgetown territory, but David Akere (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron) picked off a pass at the 2-yard line to prevent another score.

Kiselick blocked his fourth field goal of the season in the fourth quarter, swatting a 40-yard attempt.

The Raiders scored on a 21-yard run with 1:47 left to push their lead to 38-3.

Ramon Lyons (Orlando, Fla./Ocoee/West Orange) returned the next kickoff 76 yards, breaking several tackles, down to Colgate's 21-yard line. Rushes by Christian Bermudez (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) and a reception by Justin Hill (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) set up a 1-yard touchdown rush by Alex Valles (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) to complete the scoring with 10 seconds remaining.

Notes ââ'¬" Hill finished with four receptions to give him 144 for his career, passing Jake DeCicco ('15) for fourth all-time in program history.
