Feb. 3, 2016 WASHINGTON - The Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) will induct former Georgetown University men’s lacrosse Head Coach Dave Urick into its inaugural Hall of Fame Class on Saturday, May 28. Urick is one of the 11 former coaches to be inducted by the IMLCA.
Urick spent 22 years on the Hilltop from 1990-to-2012, building Georgetown men’s lacrosse into a formidable program. “Coach U” led the Hoyas to the NCAA Tournament in 11-consecutive seasons between 1997 and 2007, as the Blue & Gray advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals nine times, including six-straight seasons. In 33 seasons as a head lacrosse coach at the collegiate level, Dave posted an impressive record of 345-129 for a .733 winning percentage. He retired in 2012, ranking third all-time in coaching victories (345) and third in winning percentage (.728).
Prior to his time on the Hilltop, Urick served as Hobart’s Head Coach, beginning in 1980. In each of his first two seasons with the Statesmen, he received the Francis "Babe" Kraus Award as Division III Coach of the Year.
