The Georgetown men's tennis squad (1-4) fell to the No. 45 nationally-ranked Princeton TIGERS (3-2) on Saturday afternoon at Jadwin Gym, 5-2.
Georgetown sophomore Peter Beatty (Portland, Ore./Middlesex School) and freshman Will Sharton (Wayland, Mass./Wayland High School) won a pair of single matches for GU. Beatty defeated Princeton's Jimmy Wasserman in three sets from the No.3 position, 6-7, 6-4, 1-0. Playing at No.6, Sharton outplayed Jonathan Carcione, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0.
The Hoyas dropped the remaining matches in straight sets to their nationally-ranked opponent.
The Blue & Gray will have two weeks off from competition until they return to the court on Feb. 20 against BIG EAST opponent DePaul at 3 p.m.
