WASHINGTON - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has recognized Georgetown as one of 93 schools to earn Academic Squad honors in Division I for the 2016 season. The Hoyas were included after posting a team GPA over 3.0, which met the criteria for the award.

Georgetown was one of five schools in the BIG EAST to receive recognition.

The Hoyas finished the season with a mark of 6-11 overall and 4-3 in conference play which earned a BIG EAST Championship berth. The squad graduated eight seniors and one graduate student, but returns two of its top three scorers next year.
