Women's Lacrosse Releases 2016 Fall Schedule

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad announced its 2016 fall schedule on Tuesday. The Hoyas will play on five dates with three all-day events.

The Hoyas will open the fall hosting the U.S. Naval Academy this Friday at 7 p.m.

The first full day of games is slated for Oct. 16 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. The Hoyas will play Delaware (10:30 a.m.), USC (11:30 a.m.) and the host Quakers (2:30 p.m.) in the event.

The following weekend, the Blue & Gray wlll play at George Mason University on Oct. 22. The Hoyas will face Coastal Carolina (9 a.m.), Duquesne (11 a.m.) and UMBC (1 p.m.) in the all-day affair.

On Sunday, Oct. 23, the Blue & Gray will host its annual banquet at the Georgetown Conference Center. Alums, parents or fans looking to buy tickets to the banquet should contact Georgetown Assistant Coach Danielle Etrasco.

The Welsh National Team will be coming to the Hilltop on Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. Georgetown Head Coach Ricky Fried is the head coach of the U.S. Women's National Team and has faced this team before in international play.

Days later, the Blue & Gray will host its own tournament at Cooper Field to close out the fall on Oct. 29. GU will host Stony Brook at 8:30 a.m. and James Madison at 11:30 a.m. The final game of the day is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. against Rutgers.

The Hoyas finished the 2016 season with a mark of 6-11 overall and 4-3 in conference play, which earned a BIG EAST Championship berth. The squad graduated eight seniors and one graduate student, but returns two of its top three scorers in 2017.
