WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University baseball team will travel south to Spartanburg, S.C., for three games against three different teams this weekend. The Hoyas will play at USC Upstate at 4 p.m. on Friday before playing at Wofford at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The weekend will conclude with a neutral-site matchup against Dayton at noon on Sunday at Wofford's Russell C. King Field.

Live stats for all three games, as well as a video stream on Saturday, will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.

The Hoyas (2-2) are coming off a 6-5, 10-inning victory over Coppin State on Wednesday. Jake Bernstein (Frederick, Md./St. John's College HS) scored from second on an infield error in the top of the 10th inning to provide the game-winning run. Michael DeRenzi (Mendham, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) was on base all five times with three singles, a walk and a hit-by-pitch. He also stole two bases and scored a run. Sammy Stevens (Birmingham, Mich./Brother Rice) also had two hits and was on base three times with a walk. Nick Leonard (Washington, D.C./Maret) started and was strong on the mound for the Hoyas. He went 6.0 innings giving up two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out five.

Graduate student outfielder Zach Racusin (Morristown, N.J./Salisbury School/Marist) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday after batting .385 (5-for-13) with two runs scored and an RBI in his first games in a Georgetown uniform at Davidson last weekend. He singled in his first GU at-bat on Friday and, after Davidson scored five runs to tie the game, Racusin singled and scored the game-winning run with two outs in the ninth inning. He also had three hits, including a double, and scored a run on Saturday.

USC Upstate picked up its first win of the season on Wednesday night, defeating UNC Asheville 10-9 in 12 innings. Upstate overcame a seven-run second inning by Asheville to improve to 1-3 after being swept in a season-opening series by Virginia Tech. The Spartans are batting .296 as a team, averaging nearly 12 hits a game, while posting a team 6.69 ERA. The pitching staff has surrendered eight home runs on the young season, while striking out 46 batters.

Wofford enters the weekend at 1-3 and will play James Madison on Friday evening. The Terriers dropped two out of three last weekend at Florida A&M and lost a midweek matchup at Presbyterian on Wednesday. They are batting just .188 as a team, averaging about six hits per game. Wofford's pitchers have a 7.64 staff ERA and own a 19-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio while giving up 52 hits in 33.0 innings pitched.

Dayton comes into the weekend with a 1-2 record after a season-opening series at Furman. The Flyers will play UNC Asheville on Friday and USC Upstate on Saturday before Sunday's matchup with the Hoyas.
