March 20, 2017 WASHINGTON - Georgetown University freshman Jake Carraway (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) earned his second-straight BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Freshman of the Week honor, as announced by the league office on Monday. He scored three goals for his second-consecutive hat trick in a 12-7 loss to then-No. 12/13 Duke on Saturday.
Carraway put the first goal on the board for the Hoyas with 6:04 remaining in the first quarter against the Blue Devils. He added back-to-back goals in the waning minutes of the third quarter to pull the Blue & Gray within striking distance, down 8-5 going into the final frame.
Along with his scoring prowess, Carraway hauled in three ground balls for the Hoyas.
Georgetown returns to action on Wednesday on the road at No. 17/18 Loyola (Md.) at 3 p.m. in Baltimore. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network with Ben Holden calling the play-by-play and Sheehan Stanwick Burch providing the color commentary.
