WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's lacrosse sophomore midfielder Francesca Whitehurst (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts over the past two games.

Whitehurst posted three goals, five assists and five draw controls in a 1-1 week for the Blue & Gray.

The sophomore had two goals and two assists for four points as well as pulling in three draw controls in an 11-10 overtime loss at then-No. 18/18 Johns Hopkins University last Wednesday. On Saturday, the Hoyas notched another in the win column with an 11-6 victory over George Mason University at home. Whitehurst posted one goal and a team-best three assists for four points as well as two draw controls and a caused turnover in the victory.

This is Whitehurst's first weekly award this season and the third of her career. It is also the first weekly award of the 2017 campaign for the Blue & Gray.

The Hoyas will travel to Philadelphia, Pa., for a matchup against the No. 10/13 University of Pennsylvania Quakers on Saturday, March 11 to begin a four-game road trip. The opening draw at Franklin Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. Live stats and a webcast will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
