Hoya Final Results 
Georgetown University sophomore women's golfer Alexa Popowitz (Boca Raton, Fla./St. Andrew's) claimed the individual title and the Hoyas fired a final round score of 10-over par 298 en route to a second-place finish at the Hoya Invitational, held at Four Streams.
USF shot a 19-over par in the final round and topped the 15-team field with a score of 35-over par 899 over the three rounds. The 54-hole score for the Bulls was the second-best final total in the 12-year history of the tournament, just five shots off the record set by Campbell in 2013.
The Hoyas were in sixth place after the first day of play, but only eight shots separated six teams through 36 holes. GU posted the second-best round of the tournament on Tuesday and finished 10 shots off the pace of USF at 45-over par 909. Princeton placed third at 46-over par 910, with Yale fourth (49-over par 913) and Rollins College (50-over par 914) in fifth place.
Popowitz shot a 3-over par 75 in the final round to finish with a 3-over par 219 and earn medalist honors for her first collegiate victory.
South Florida placed three of its five golfers among the top-10 overall, with Nicole Autrique tying for third place at 6-over par 222, Maria Rodriguez tying for fifth place (8-over par 224) and Ashley Burke tying for eight place (9-over par 225).
Junior Christine Schmitt (Fairport, N.Y./Mercy), playing as an individual, tied for third place at 6-over par 222. She finished with a 2-over par 74 in Tuesday's round. Junior Jacquelyn Eleey (Quincy, Mass./The Taft School) and freshman Ashley Fitzgibbons (Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake Senior) tied for 23rd place at 14-over par 230. They each posted scores of 2-over par 74 in the third round.
Junior Lauren Gros (Windermere, Fla./Windermere Prep) carded a 3-over par 75 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 33rd place at 18-over par 234, while sophomore Pendleton Bogache (Myrtle Beach, S.C./Episcopal [Va.]) tied for 52nd place at 23-over par 239.
Freshman Kate Evanko (West Chester, Pa./Unionville), also playing as an individual, tied for 63rd place at 30-over par 246.
Georgetown plays next in the BIG EAST Championship, from April 21-13, at Callawassie Island, S.C.
