Hoyas Fall to Emory

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's tennis team was defeated by Emory on Thursday by a score of 5-2. With the loss, GU fell to 7-12 on the season while Emory improved to 12-4.

The Hoyas started the match by dropping a tightly-contested doubles point. At No. 2, Jordan Portner (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) and Marco Lam (Hong Kong, China/Diocesan Boys' School) picked up the lone doubles win for GU by a score of 7-6.

The Blue & Gray picked up both their points in singles play with wins at No. 2 and No. 4. Michael Chen (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel High School) continued his strong play by winning at No. 4, 6-4, 6-2. Peter Beatty (Portland, Ore./Middlesex School) picked up the other win at No. 2, by score of 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.

The Hoyas return to action on Thursday, April 20 for a match against George Washington at 11 a.m
