WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's rowing team has added 10 newcomers to the lightweight roster for the 2018-19 season. With a mix of freshman and transfers hailing from all around the country and Canada, the new additions will look to make their mark in Georgetown's prominent rowing history.

John Dailey

Rye, N.Y.
Dailey started rowing going into his freshman year in high school in Rye, New York, and continued throughout his high school career. He stroked his Lightweight 4+ to a second-place finish at the 2016 USRowing Youth Nationals, a third-place finish at the 2016 Head of the Charles Regatta, and a first-place finish at the 2017 USRowing Youth National Championships. Dailey plans on majoring in government with a double minor in philosophy and french.
Charles Koontz

Koontz rowed for Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, New Jersey and Vesper Boat Club in Philadelphia. He is majoring in economics and is a transfer from Trinity University where he stroked their varsity boat as a Freshman.
Mark Laforce

Laforce attended Woodside High School in Woodside, California. He rowed for Norcal Crew where he medaled in the 4- and the 4+ categories at the 2016 Southwest Regional Championships. He also finished in 11th-place in the Varsity 8+ at the 2017 Youth Nationals in Sarasota, Florida. Laforce is planning on majoring in finance.
Andrew Peck

Peck began rowing in 2013 at Upper Canada College in Toronto, Ontario. He transferred to Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts in 2015 for his sophomore, junior, and senior years. At Deerfield, he won the NEIRA 3V4+ in 2017 and was a member of the overall New England Champion Deerfield rowing team. Peck rowed as bow seat in Deerfield's 2017 Princess Elizabeth 8+ at the Henley Royal Regatta, reaching Day 3 with wins over Haverford and Kent, before losing to Eton. Captained Deerfield in 2018 and placed 2nd in the 2V4+ at NEIRA's, also won the overall New England Championship for the second straight year. He is planning to major in international political economics in the School of Foreign Service.
Alex Rodrick

Rodrick attended Aragon High School in San Mateo, California. In 2016, his crew placed first in the Men's Lightweight 4+ event at the USRowing Youth National Championships in West Windsor, New Jersey. Rodrick is intending to major in management with a concentration in leadership and innovation.

Rudolph-Math hails from Geneva, Switzerland then moved to Rye, New York where he rowed for Rye High School all four years. He is majoring in internal affairs/pre-med.
Austin Sammons

Sammons rowed for Brunswick School's Varsity 8+. Before rowing, he played goalkeeper for his varsity soccer team. This past summer, he had the privilege of rowing at the Henley Royal Regatta in England, where Brunswick's 8+ was knocked out on the second day. Other notable race results include silver at the 2018 Stotesbury Cup, silver at the NEIRA Championships 2018 and 7th place in the Men's LW 2x Club Nationals 2017. Sammons' intended major is finance and he plans to receive a minor in computer science.
Santo Scarfone

Scarfone did his high school racing with the Detroit Boat Club Crew and the Detroit Waterfront Rowing Association. He is studying chemistry and mathematics with an intended major in chemistry.

Walter rowed for Canisius High School, Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association and South Niagara Rowing Club. Walter raced to a bronze medal finish in the 2018 USRowing youth national championships in the youth 4+. His intended major is biology.

Young attended Fordham Preparatory School in New York City. He was a four-time NY State Rowing Champion from 2014 to 2018. He placed 5th at the 2016 SRAA Nationals in Nashport, Ohio and 8th at Youth Nationals in the Lightweight 8+ category in 2018.
