WASHINGTON – Graduate student
Kyra Carusa (San Diego, Calif. / Del Norte / Stanford) was named to the 2018 Women's College Cup All-Tournament Team on Sunday. She was one of 11 players among the final four teams to be selected and one of two forwards who were chosen.
Carusa finished the season with 32 points, the team's second best. The graduate student recorded 10 goals and 12 assists, including 10 points from three goals and four helpers during the NCAA Tournament. In her single year playing for the Hoyas, Carusa sits eighth in all-time single-season records at Georgetown with 10 goals, third with 12 assists and fifth with 32 points.
The forward earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team and earned two nods to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this season. Last week, she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Regional First Team.
Georgetown finished the 2018 campaign as the most successful team in program history. The Hoyas finished the season with an overall record of 21-1-3 and reached the College Cup for the second time in three years. The Blue & Gray three-peated the BIG EAST Championship and won back-to-back BIG EAST Regular Season titles. The team set the program record for most wins (21).
