Georgetown Earns Victory Over Texas

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball squad defeated Texas on the final day of the Charleston Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina. The Hoyas won, 1-0, over the Longhorns, improving their record to 7-20 overall, while Texas fell to 12-13 on the season.

The game went scoreless until the top of the seventh inning when freshman Savannah Jones hit a double to center field, scoring sophomore Noelle Holiday (Bear, Del./Red Lion Christian Academy). Holiday led the Hoyas with two hits at the plate.

Sophomore Anna Brooks Pacha (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) took the win in the circle, pitching 7.0 innings, giving up six hits and striking out eight. Georgetown had four hits against the Longhorns.

The Blue & Gray will kick off BIG EAST play against Providence in Providence, Rhode Island next weekend, March 24-25. Live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
