WASHINGTON - Georgetown softball sophomore Anna Brooks Pacha (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Pacha went 1-1 over the weekend with 14 strikeouts in the circle in the Charleston Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Hoyas (7-20) lost on Friday evening to Jacksonville State, 2-0. Pacha pitched a complete game against the Gamecocks, giving up three hits, two runs and striking out six. On Sunday, GU defeated Texas, 1-0, scoring the only run of the game in the final inning. Pacha went 7.0 innings on the mound, giving up six hits and striking out eight.

This is Pacha's first time this season being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll and second of her career. It is also Georgetown's first BIG EAST honor of the 2017-18 season. Sunday's victory marked Pacha's first shutout of her collegiate career.

The Blue & Gray will return to action on Saturday as it will open up BIG EAST play against Providence in Providence, Rhode Island. GU will play at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
