WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (11-27, 3-5 BIG EAST) will host Butler this weekend at Nationals Youth Academy for a three-game BIG EAST series. The Hoyas will take on the Bulldogs on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon and will conclude the series on Sunday for a noon game. Earlier this week, GU fell to George Mason on Wednesday evening. The Blue & Gray lost in extra innings to the Patriots, 4-3. Sophomore Noelle Holiday (Bear, Del./Red Lion Christian Academy) led the offense with two hits, including a double, her seventh double of the season, and two RBIs. Junior Sarah Bennett (Owings, Md./Northern) contributed a home run in the effort.

Mallory Belknap (Scottsdale, Ariz./Xavier College Prep) leads the Hoyas at the plate with a .316 (36-for-113) batting average and a team-high two triples. Freshman
Savannah Jones (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda) has a team high of 10 doubles, tied for third in the BIG EAST, and 20 RBIs. Bennett leads GU with six home runs, while Holiday leads the squad with 22 RBIs. Sophomore pitcher
Anna Brooks Pacha (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) is ranked second in the BIG EAST in strikeouts (101).
Pacha was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for her efforts last week while Holiday was selected to the weekly honor roll.
Butler holds a 13-20 overall record with a 3-3 mark in the BIG EAST. The Bulldogs split a pair on Tuesday against Indiana. Caitlin Candotti led the squad offensively in its win over Indiana with two hits and two RBIs. In BIG EAST action Butler went 1-2 last weekend against Creighton, finishing off the series with a 2-0 victory from a two-run double by Kaitlin Doud. Doud leads the Bulldogs with five doubles, five triples, four home runs and 19 RBIs and currently leads the conference in triples. Jenna Foreman holds the highest batting average on the team (.373) and leads the BIG EAST in stolen bases (27).
Following this weekend's series, the Blue & Gray is set to play two midweek games on Tuesday and Wednesday at Nationals Youth Academy. GU will host Towson on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and then will take on Virginia on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
