WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team returns to BIG EAST action as it travels to face No. 13/13 Villanova on Saturday afternoon. The game is the second-straight for the Hoyas against a nationally-ranked opponent, and the third overall this season.

Saturday's showdown against the Wildcats is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on FOX College Sports with Scott Sudikoff and Rich Donovan calling the action. Links to live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.

Georgetown (7-4, 1-2 BIG EAST) is coming off an 11-8 nonconference setback to No. 9/10 Loyola Maryland on Tuesday afternoon. Daniel Bucaro (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) led the Hoyas with two goals and three assists while Lucas Wittenberg (Kennesaw, Ga./Harrison/Mercer) added a goal and three assists. Austin McDonald (Olney, Md./Georgetown Prep) and Matt Behrens (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) both notched a pair of goals, Craig Berge (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) added a goal and an assist, and Jake Carraway (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) tallied an assist.

Defensively, Nick Marrocco (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) collected six saves in between the pipes. Gibson Smith (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) hauled in six grounds balls.

Bucaro continues to pace the GU offense with 49 points (29G, 20A) while Carraway is right behind him with 41 points (28G, 13A). Berge recently became the 23rd Hoya in program history with 100 career points and has 30 points (14G, 16A) on the season. Wittenberg has 22 points (13G, 9A) and Behrens has 12 points (11G, 1A) while McDonald rounds out the Hoyas in double figures with 11 points (9G, 2A).

In goal, Marrocco owns an 8.15 goals-against average to go with 96 saves and a .527 save percentage. He is just two saves away from reaching the 600 career save milestone. He is currently the NCAA active career leader in saves with 598 and will become the first BIG EAST player with 600 saves since 2013. With two more saves, Marrocco will also become one of just four Hoyas with at least 600 career saves.

Villanova (8-3, 1-1 BIG EAST) is coming off a 22-6 loss to No. 4/4 Denver last Friday. Connor Kirst and Christian Cuccinello both notched a pair of goals for the Wildcats in the setback.

Six different Villanova players have double-digit points, including a trio with at least 30. Cuccinello leads Villanova with 39 points (25G, 14A), Keegan Khan adds 33 points (23G, 10A) and Danny Seibel has notched 30 points (24G, 6A). Colin Crowley (22P, 12G, 10A), Kirst (20P, 14G, 6A) and Devin McNamara (17P, 11G, 6A) round out the scoring leaders.

Defensively, Nick Testa owns a 10.63 goals-against average to go with 97 saves and a .478 save percentage.

Georgetown and Villanova have faced each other 32 times in program history with the Wildcats holding a 12-20 advantage in the series. Villanova has won the last two meetings, including a 17-12 victory over the Hoyas on the Hilltop last season. The Blue & Gray's last victory at Villanova came courtesy of a 15-9 win in 2010.

Following Saturday's game, the Hoyas return to the friendly confines of Cooper Field for their final home game of the 2018 season against NJIT in nonconference action. The finale will serve as senior day for 13 Hoyas playing their final game on the Hilltop.
