Lightweight Men's Rowing Heads to Boston, Heavyweights Compete at GW Invite

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's lightweight men's rowing team heads to New England to take part in back-to-back races on the Charles River on Saturday and Sunday, while the heavyweight squad remains in the Nation's Capital to participate in the 30th Annual GW Invite.

Lightweight
For the second time in three weeks, the Blue & Gray will race on back-to-back days as it faces a bevy of foes from the Eastern Association of Racing Colleges (EARC) on Saturday and Sunday. Georgetown is ranked No. 11 in the most recent USRowing Coaches' Poll. Saturday's action will pit GU against No. 5 Yale and No. 12 MIT, while Sunday's action finds the Hoyas racing No. 3 Columbia and No. 4 Harvard.

Following the weekend races, Georgetown returns to the water on Saturday, April 14 against No. 8 Navy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Heavyweight
Coming off a dominating performance with wins over ranked foes George Washington and Drexel two weeks ago, the 16th-ranked heavyweights will also race on back-to-back days at the GW Invite over the weekend. The Hoyas race No. 18 Navy and Michigan on Friday before taking on Hobart and No. 19 Florida Tech on Saturday.

Following the weekend's racing, the heavyweights head west to take part in the Stanford Invitational on April 14-15 in Redwood City, California.
