WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore Anna Brooks Pacha (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. This is Pacha's second time this season earning BIG EAST honors and third of her career.

Additionally, sophomore Noelle Holiday (Bear, Del./Red Lion Christian Academy) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, her first recognition of the season and fifth of her career.

Georgetown (11-26, 3-5 BIG EAST) went 2-1 against BIG EAST standings leader DePaul over the weekend, its first conference series win of the season. Pacha continued her impressive season on the mound by pitching two complete games. Facing the Blue Demons in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, the sophomore pitched all seven innings allowing seven hits and striking out three batters as GU knocked off DePaul, 8-6, for the first time since April 11, 2015. With the series tied at one heading into Sunday's contest, Pacha struck out six batters in 8.0 innings of work, closing out the program's first series victory over DePaul. She closed out the bottom of the eighth inning forcing three straight ground outs.

In a nonconference victory over George Washington last week, Holiday registered a pair of doubles and an RBI. On Saturday's victory against the Blue Demons, Holiday smashed a two-run homer, her second of the game, in the top of the seventh inning to clinch the win. Over the four-game week, Holiday batted .500, with seven hits, five RBIs, two doubles and two home runs.
