WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University field hockey team (5-5, 1-1 BIG EAST) will travel to Old Dominion to take on the Monarchs (5-3, 1-1 BIG EAST)) on Friday, Oct. 4 at L.R. Hill Sports Complex. The Hoyas will end the road trip at Busch Field on Sunday, Oct. 6 when they take on William & Mary. Live stats and a live stream will be available for both contests at GUHoyas.com.

The Hoyas are eager to get back into the win column after coming up a goal short in their last two matches.
Georgetown suffered its first conference loss last weekend 2-1 after falling to Quinnipiac in a shootout. GU took a 1-0 lead into the fourth quarter against American, but it was the Eagles that pulled out the win behind two late goals.
Senior forward Lindsay Getz leads Georgetown with nine points heading into the weekend. Michaela Bruno has eight points after being credited with an assist against Quinnipiac and freshman Ellie Maransky was on the receiving end of Bruno's assist, giving her goal number three on the year. Junior forward Cami Osborne also picked up her third goal of the season in GU's loss at American. Sophomore Ciara Weets continues to hold as the BIG EAST saves leader with 48 stops. GU has attempted 92 shots through 10 games with 59 on goal and 17 finding the back of the cage. Opponents have attempted 108 shots with 69 shots on goal against the Hoyas.
Scouting Old Dominion
The Monarchs are 5-3 after losses to James Madison and BIG EAST foe UConn last weekend. ODU was on a five-game winning streak before falling 3-1 at JMU. The Monarchs struggled to hold up defensively in their meeting against No. 3 UConn. The Huskies handed the Monarchs their first BIG EAST loss, running away with a 6-2 win. This season Old Dominion is led by 2018 BIG EAST First Team and all-region selections, Rebecca Birch and Erin Huffman. Birch leads the Monarchs with four goals and 10 points while Huffman has three goals on the season. Sophomore forward Riley Taylor has nine points behind three goals and three assists to complement Birch and Huffman. Junior Marlee McClendon leads the team with five assists.
Scouting William & Mary
William & Mary is 3-5 heading into the weekend and the Tribe have been battle tested in the early parts of their schedule with matches against then-No. 3 Duke and the nation No.1 squad in North Carolina. The Tribe went 1-1 last weekend after scoring three unanswered goals to beat Vermont, 3-1. William & Mary attempted 25 shots against Catamounts and 22 shots in a 1-0 losing effort against Longwood. Senior midfielder Christie van de Kamp leads the Tribe with seven points on three goals. Willam & Mary has dominated the shot count against opponents at 122-97. The Tribe will host James Madison on Friday, Oct. 4 before Sunday's match against Georgetown.
