WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's and women's soccer programs were recognized by the United Soccer Coaches organization for the 2018-19 College Team Academic Award. The award recognizes teams that post an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
The squads were two of 989 soccer teams that were recognized by United Soccer Coaches and Georgetown was just one of 255 schools that had both its men's and women's programs recipients of the award.
This is the 16th year overall that the women's soccer program, who posted a 3.59 GPA, has been recognized, and its 13th-straight year claiming the award. The men's team held a 3.15 GPA, marking its 13th recognition by the organization and the Hoyas' fifth year in a row receiving the award.
