WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University baseball team resumes BIG EAST play this weekend with a three-game series at Villanova in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. Friday's series opener will start at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN). Both games on Saturday and Sunday are set for 1 p.m. Live stats for all three games will be available at GUHoyas.com.

The Hoyas (9-24, 0-3 BIG EAST) are coming off a 4-3 win over Coppin State on Wednesday afternoon.
Anthony Redfern (Andover, Mass. / Phillips Andover) set career highs with 5.0 innings pitched and seven strikeouts, allowing just one run on four hits.
Eddie McCabe (Norwalk, Conn. / Norwalk) led the GU offense with four hits and also scored a run.
Ryan M. Davis (Danville, Calif. / San Ramon Valley) had three hits, including a double and a triple, and an RBI.
Kyle Ruedisili (Jupiter, Fla. / The Benjamin School / Washington and Lee University) and
Ryan Weisenberg (Parkland, Fla. / San Ramon Valley [Calif.]) each had two hits with a double and an RBI.
Both
Jack Cushing (Flower Mound, Texas / Marcus) and
Brent Killam (Nokomis, Fla. / Venice) are currently among Georgetown's top 10 for career strikeouts. Cushing is sixth with 198 career strikeouts. He is just two away from becoming the sixth Hoya to ever reach 200 strikeouts in a career and three behind Brian O'Hare (1993-96). Killam is ninth with 170 strikeouts and is just 10 behind Randy Erwin (1998-01) for eighth.
For the season, McCabe leads the Hoyas with a .320 (39 for 122) batting average and is second with 17 RBIs. Davis is second on the team with 37 hits, 10 doubles and six stolen bases. He also has two home runs and is tied for the BIG EAST lead with four triples. Ruedisili leads GU in several categories including home runs (5), RBIs (18), runs scored (26), doubles (11) and stolen bases (8). As a team, Georgetown is batting .261 and has hit 22 home runs, one less than all of last season. The pitching staff has a 5.62 team ERA.
Villanova enters the weekend with an 8-22 overall record and a 1-2 mark in BIG EAST action. The Wildcats defeated local rival Saint Joseph's 8-7 in 10 innings on Tuesday after dropping two of three against Seton Hall last weekend to open conference play. Nick Lorusso leads Villanova with a .320 (33 for 103) batting average. Timothy Lilly has a team-high five home runs to go along with 23 RBIs, while JP Radvany leads the squad with 25 RBIs. As a team, Villanova is batting .253 while the pitching staff owns a 6.26 ERA.

Following this weekend's series, the Hoyas will wrap up their eight-game road trip with a midweek matchup at Navy. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 6 p.m. in Annapolis, Maryland. Georgetown will then have its bye weekend from conference play, welcoming Rider to Shirley Povich Field for a two-day, three-game series next weekend.
