WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's rowing team closes out the 2019 racing season at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association's National Championship this weekend, held at Lake Natoma in Sacramento County, California. The Hoyas will enter four boats over the weekend, including a heavyweight 4+, a lightweight 8+, a lightweight 4+ and a lightweight 4-.
Racing begins on Friday, May 31 with the preliminary heats in the morning before an afternoon of repechages to determine future schedules, along with the heavyweight semifinals on Sunday. Sunday will feature championship races for all events.
Friday's action begins at 11:10 a.m. ET with the LW4- racing against Mercyhurst, Penn, Columbia and Navy. The LW8+ crew then rows at 12:10 p.m. ET against Yale, Navy and Cornell, the HW4+ takes on Northeastern, Cornell, Stetson and Jacksonville at 2:10 p.m. ET and the LW4+ competes in the final heat of the session at 2:40 p.m. ET against Harvard, Princeton and Columbia.
