WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Dylan Watson was named the first BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Attack Player of the Week for the 2020 season, as announced by the league office on Monday. Additionally, Alex Mazzone was selected to the weekly honor roll as the Hoyas won their season-opener with an emphatic 17-3 victory on the road at Lafayette.

Dylan Watson, So., A, Guelph, Ontario
•    Led the Hoyas to their third season-opening victory in as many years.
•    Doubled his career-high with six goals and added an assist for seven points.
•    Was one of just two Hoyas with multiple goals on the day.
•    Completed the hat-trick in the first quarter.
•    Added four ground balls, the third most on the team.

Alex Mazzone, So., LSM, Stony Brook, N.Y.
•    Paced the Hoyas on both ends of the field.
•    Scored his first career goal, the eventual game-winner, in the first quarter.
•    Collecting a game-high five grounds balls and added a caused turnover.
•    Georgetown's defense posted 13 caused turnovers on the day and held Lafayette scoreless for the first 25+ minutes of the game.
•    The Hoyas held Lafayette to a meager 22 shots and just nine shots on goal.

Georgetown continues its road trek to start the 2020 campaign as it takes on UMBC in Catonsville, Maryland on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3:30 p.m.
