WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team wraps up a three-game homestand as it hosts Bellarmine to the Hilltop on Saturday, Feb. 29 at noon. The No. 14/12 Hoyas are playing their third game in a week and own a 4-0 record on the season.
ABOUT GEORGETOWN
• Georgetown is coming off a 14-7 midweek victory over visiting Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday.
•
Jake Carraway nearly matched the Mount's entire offensive production himself, scoring six goals including a man-up and a man-down goal. He became just the third player in program history to reach the 200 career point mark and joins standouts Greg McCavera (C'99) and
Daniel Bucaro (C'19) on the list.
•
Declan McDermott and
Dylan Watson both added three goals and an assist apiece while
Graham Bundy Jr. and
James Reilly both had a goal and an assist.
• For the third-straight game, the Hoyas dominated the 'X', winning 17-of-24 faceoffs. Reilly went 15-for-22 on the day while
Carson Milburn won both faceoffs he took. Reilly tied his career high with 12 ground balls for the second time in three games.
• Defensively,
Owen McElroy collected nine saves between the pipes for his fourth win of the season.
• On the season, Carraway has 26 points (17G, 9A), followed by Watson with 20 points (18G, 2A) and
Robert Clark with 16 points (7G, 9A).
• The Hoyas have been stellar at the 'X', posting a .676 faceoff percentage in four games. Reilly has gone 50-for-73 (.685) on the season while Milburn is 22-for-29 (.759).
ABOUT BELLARMINE
• The Knights visit the Nation's Capital with a 2-4 overall record and are coming off a 17-11 loss to Boston University.
• Landon Trout leads Bellarmine with 18 points (9G, 9A) followed closely by Brayden Brown with 17 points (12G, 5A), Luke Legnard with 16 points (11G, 5A) and Morgan Macko with 15 points (9G, 6A).
• Defensively, Jon Robbins leads the way with nine caused turnovers and 18 ground balls to pace the Knights in both categories.
• In goal, JC Higginbotham has a 2-4 record on the season with 42 saves, a .464 save percentage and a 12.33 goals-against average.
SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting between Georgetown and Bellarmine.
• The Knights established their program in 2005, but did not play a full Division I schedule until 2006.
