London Diller of the Georgetown University softball team (8-15) was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week and sophomore
Mae Forshey earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll, announced Monday by the office. Diller and Forshey led the Hoyas to a 3-2 record over the weekend at the UNCW Softball Invitational in Wilmington, North Carolina.
This is the second-straight week that Georgetown has been recognized by the BIG EAST.
London Diller, Jr., P, Sugar Land, Texas
- The junior was 3-0 over the weekend and registered a 2.72 earned run average. She gave up nine runs off of 16 hits and struck out 11 batters in 18.0 innings of work.
- This is the second time in her career that Diller has received BIG EAST honors and first of this season. A Hoya has not been recognized as the league's Pitcher of the Week since the 2018 season.
Mae Forshey, So., C, Phoenix, Ariz.
- Forshey went 9-for-16 at the plate over this weekend and recorded a .563 BA. The sophomore tallied three doubles and a home run along with seven RBIs.
- Last week, she was named the conference's Player of the Week.
The Blue & Gray will return to action on Friday, March 13 at the Cherry Blossom Classic, hosted by George Mason. The Hoyas will play five games over the course of three days. Live stats for all games will be available at GUHoyas.com.
