Women's Lacrosse

Dear Lacrosse

With the 2020 spring season coming to an abrupt end, members of the women's lacrosse squad will be sharing their thoughts and what the sport means to them over the coming weeks.  This week we're hearing from senior, Natalia Lynch.

Dear Lacrosse,
When I look back on the past 14 years we've had together, I reminisce on both the good times and the bad, for each and every moment has been coupled with life lessons that have shaped the person I am today.

Thank you lacrosse, for teaching me that sports aren't only about winning games. That feeling of accomplishment that follows a win is great, but it's the little things that make the whole experience even better. It's when your extra reps and hard work finally pay off, when your teammate makes a game-changing play, or when you realize that your teammates have turned into family--it's those moments that truly make the whole experience worthwhile.

Thank you lacrosse, for teaching me the importance of being on a team. I've learned that each team's success is put in motion through hard work, dedication, and a group of individuals who are willing to play for each other. It took me time to realize that the relationships and bonds that form off the field are just as important as what happens on the field. The second family and lifelong friendships I have made with my teammates and coaches are special relationships that I will always cherish. Not only do I love the game, but I love the people it has brought me close to.

Lastly, I thank you for bringing me to The Hilltop where I have spent the greatest four years of my life. Luckily I do not have to say goodbye just yet, as I am returning for one last year to pursue my Master's in Management at the McDonough School of Business. Being presented the opportunity to play lacrosse for Georgetown one last time was something I could not pass up, as I was not ready to leave this second family of mine. I could not be more excited to get back with the team and see what 2021 has in store for us! Hoya Saxa!

Love,
Natalia
