WASHINGTON – Georgetown University football senior linebacker Palmer Nix has been named to the 2021 Patriot League Football Preseason All-League Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The Hoyas were selected to finish sixth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. The preseason team and poll were voted on by the league's head coach and sports information directors who could not vote for their own student-athletes.
 
Nix was named to the preseason team as a special teams non-specialist. He earned an All-Patriot League Second Team nod to the same position as a sophomore in 2019, marking the fourth-straight year a Hoya has been recognized as an all-league special teams non-specialist. Nix played in all 11 games in 2019, registering 19 tackles, 2.0 TFL and a quarterback hurry. He was a force on special teams, playing on multiple units while also being in the regular rotation in the linebacker corps. In his two seasons on the Hilltop, Nix has appeared in 22 games, making 23 total tackles.
 
The Hoyas open the 2021 season on September 4 when the Blue & Gray welcome Marist to Cooper Field. Georgetown will play five home games this fall, including three Patriot League matchups and a nonconference tilt against Harvard (September 18). The squad will also travel to Columbia on September 25, looking to keep the Lou Little Trophy after an exciting 24-10 victory in 2019.
