WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Francis X. Rienzo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Lee Reed announced the promotion of four staff members last week.
Sharon Brummell was elevated to Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business & Finance / SWA.
Dan O'Neil and
Dan Trump were promoted to Deputy AD, External Affairs and Deputy AD, Internal Operations, respectively. Finally,
Kelli Myers is now the Chief of Staff, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sport Administration.
"It is important to recognize the value of these individuals and their demonstrated leadership and contributions to our department," said Reed. "I am personally grateful for their dedication to our student-athletes, coaches, staff and Georgetown Intercollegiate Athletics."
As a group, the individuals being recognized have nearly 40 combined years of service at Georgetown University, in addition to decades more within intercollegiate athletics.
Brummell manages the daily activity of the business office and serves on Reed's senior staff. She currently oversees the athletics budget and provides strategic advisement to Reed on matters including contracts, revenue agreements, departmental policies and procedures and scholarship support for all 30 sports. Brummell also serves as the administrator for volleyball, women's lacrosse and secondary for women's basketball.
Trump oversees the areas of academics, compliance, sports medicine, sports performance, human resources, as well as assisting Reed with the internal operations of the department as a member of his senior staff. Trump serves as the department's liaison with the University's offices of the general counsel, admissions, registrar, financial aid and Title IX. Trump also serves as the sport administrator for football and baseball.
O'Neil oversees marketing, sponsorship, licensing, ticket sales, media rights and communications as a member of the senior staff. In addition, he serves as the sport administrator for women's soccer, men's soccer, men's golf, women's golf, sailing and secondary for men's basketball. He also is the primary contact for Georgetown Athletics in working with multimedia rights partner PlayFly Sports, Capital One Arena and IMG College Licensing.
Myers has an extensive background at the University in both fundraising and advancement. In her current position, she is a member of Reed's senior staff and uses her experience as a former Division I head coach to "coach the coaches". Myers provides support to Reed, coordinates the Department's sport administration team, and creates programming to enhance Georgetown's investment in the careers of the head and assistant coaches working in partnership with the executive director of the Cooper Athletics Leadership Program. She also oversees men's lacrosse, field hockey, men's and women's tennis as well as squash.
