WASHINGTON – Sophomore Kieran Sargeant was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday when the BIG EAST Conference announced its weekly awards. This is Sargeant's first weekly honor of the season and the fourth-consecutive weekly nod for the Blue & Gray.

• Sargeant was part of a backline that shut out Providence in a 1-0 victory at Shaw Field on Wednesday.
• Also, the sophomore was fouled in the box, which set up the game winning penalty kick by senior captain Aidan Rocha.
• In Georgetown's 3-2 victory at Villanova on Saturday, Sergeant assisted on the game-winning goal to help the Hoyas get the win.
• The defender is currently leading the team in assists tying two other Hoyas with four apiece. He also has one goal on the season for six points on the year.
• This is Georgetown's third player of the week award of the year and the third award of Sargeant's career.
