WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's rowing team had a successful weekend at the Navy Day Regatta and the Occoquan Chase. The lightweight team captured three first-place finishes at the Occoquan Chase while the openweight team finished in the top three in every race.
Navy Day Results:
- Georgetown raced three boats in the V4+ race. The Hoyas finished third and fourth out of 40 boats behind the University of Pennslyvania in first and Temple in second. The third boat came in at 35th. The third-place boat finished with a time of 13:48, the fourth-place boat finished at 13:59 and the 35th-place finish cam in at 15:31.
- Georgetown raced one boat in the Novice V4+ race and place second out of eight and finishing behind Drexel. The Hoyas boat finished with a time of 14:31.
- In the V8+ race, the Hoyas came in at third place behind two Penn boats. Georgetown's second V8+ boat came in at seventh out of 30. The third-place boat finished with a time of 12:43 and the seventh place boat finished at 12:58.
- In the JV8+ the Hoyas place third out of 14. Temple finished in first place followed by Drexel. The Hoyas boat finished with a time of 13:19.
Occoquan Chase:
- In the V8+ race, Georgetown captured first place out of eight with a time of 17:52. The Hoyas also placed fifth with a time of 18:56.
- In the V4+ race, the Hoyas topped the standings by coming in first and second out of six boats. The first-place boat finished with a time of 20:18 and the second-place boat finished with a time of 21:31.
- Georgetown conquered the standings again in the V2x race. The Hoyas took first and second out of three with the University of Virginia coming in third.. The first-place boat had a time of 21:33 and the second-place boat finished at 21:34.

The Hoyas will travel to Boston, Massachusetts to compete at the Head of the Charles on October 22-23.
