About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (7-4-3, 5-1-1 BIG EAST) blanked the Seton Hall University Pirates 2-0 in a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Shaw Field.
  • The victory put the Hoyas alone in first place in the standings with 16 points, however, Xavier sits right behind with 13 points on the season.
  • A long ball to the corner from junior Kenny Nielsen was tracked down by a Pirate, but the clear was deflected by Kieran Sargeant. The sophomore sent it across the box and found junior Marlon Tabora who finished with the low shot to make it 1-0 in the 31st minute.
  • The game changed in the 84th minute as a flick pass from Tabora sprung freshman Jacob Murrell who got past the defense and lofted a crafty ball over the keeper's head and into the back of the net to make it 2-0 which would stand as the final.
  • On Monday, Sargeant was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts against Villanova and in a shutout of Providence earlier in the week.
  • It was Georgetown's third weekly award of the year and the third award of Sargeant's career.
  • Tabora currently leads the team in scoring with five goals and five assists for 15 points on the season. He is followed by a pair of freshmen as Murrell boasts 13 points (5G, 3A) and Jack Panayotou has eight points on the season with three goals and two assists.
About the Musketeers
  • The Musketeers are coming off of a 1-1 draw at DePaul on Saturday. Alvaro Heredia scored the tying goal in the 77th minute for the draw.
  • Cole Jensen was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, Oct. 17. Alejandro Steinwascher was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • Xavier sits at No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and is the only BIG EAST team ranked in the poll this week.
  • The Musketeers are one of only five unbeaten teams in the country joining Washington, Duke, Dayton and Kentucky.
  • Xavier entered the top 10 for the first time since being ranked No. 10 on Sept. 1, 2015. The No. 9 ranking matches the highest ranking in program history from Oct. 28, 2014.
Series Info
  • The Hoyas are 7-5 all-time against the Musketeers and 4-2 at home.
  • Last year, the Hoyas managed the 3-1 victory in Ohio as Will Sands tallied two goals and one assist in the win.
  • The last contest on the Hilltop was a 1-0 Georgetown win on a Jacob Montes goal in the 14th minute.
