Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown field hockey team fell 5-1 to Villanova on Friday evening. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to a record of 3-15 while the Wildcats move to 11-6 for the season.
How it Happened
- Villanova got on the board in the first six minutes when Anne Drabbe found the back of the cage off the assist from Raina Smolij and Makenna Maguire.
- The Wildcats added another in the first to make the score 2-0.
- With three minutes left in the first half, Villanova was able to tally another to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
- The third quarter was scoreless, and Ciara Weets made two saves.
- The Blue & Gray got on the board first in the fourth when Sophie Towne deflected a shot from Sydney Yodh into the back of the cage.
- The Wildcats would score two more in the quarter to capture the victory 5-1.
