WASHINGTON - The Georgetown men's and women's cross country teams head to Attleboro, Massachusetts for the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships. The event will be held on Saturday, October 29 with the meet starting at 11 a.m. ET. The women's team sits at No. 12 and the men's team sits at 26 in the national rankings poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

- The meet begins at 11 a.m. ET with the women's 6K followed by the men's 8K at 11:50 a.m. The medal ceremony will start at 12:40 p.m.
ABOUT THE NO. 12 GEORGETOWN WOMEN
- The Georgetown women are ranked 12th nationally in the USTFCCCA rankings. They are also tabbed as the No. 1 team in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- The Blue & Gray are set to defend its BIG EAST title from a season ago this weekend.
- Maggie Donahue returns as the reigning BIG EAST individual champion, becoming just the fifth Hoya to win the event. Donahue also earned All-America honors for her performance in the NCAA Cross Country Championships last season.
- Donahue took conference honors for the second straight time last week after being the top BIG EAST finisher at the Nuttycombe Invitational. Donahue placed 33rd and clocked a time of 20:23.5 in the 6K race.
- Sami Corman, the 2020 BIG EAST individual champion, came in 55th place with a time of 20:34.3 at the Nuttycombe Invitational.

ABOUT THE NO. 26 GEORGETOWN MEN
- The Georgetown men are ranked as the No. 3 squad in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- The Hoyas closed the 2021 season with a 22nd-place showing at the NCAA Championships. Shea Weilbaker was the top finisher for the Hoyas as he clocked 30:06.8 over the 10,000-meter race.
- The men return a wealth of talent this season, including Parker Stokes, Weilbaker, Quinn Nicholson, Matthew Payamps and Price Owens.
- Stokes was the top Hoya finisher last season at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships after finishing in 6th place with a time of 24:26.5.
- The men took 17th place at the Nuttycombe Invitational and Stokes led the Hoyas with a 37th-place finish. He clocked a time of 23:40.2 over the 8,000-meter course.
