Women's Rowing Captures Two Second-Place Finishes at the Head of the Schuylkill

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's rowing team had a successful showing at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia. The Hoyas lightweight team had two second-place finishes along with one third-place and one fourth-place finish.
 
The Results:
  • The Hoyas Championship Fours boat placed second out of 52 with a time of 14:02.527. The University of Delaware took first with a time of 13:59.598. Georgetown also had a seventh-place finish with a time of 14:30.907.
  • Georgetown's Championship Eights boat also finished in second out of 10 with a time of 12:38.282. The Hoyas finished two seconds behind Drexel University (12:36.514).
  • In the Championship Doubles, the Hoyas placed third out of 10 with a time of 15:04.594. The Hoyas also had a sixth-place finish with a time of 15:56.715.
  • In the Frosh Novice Fours, Georgetown finished in fourth out of 22 with a time of 15:25.368. Temple finished in first with a time of 15:25.368 followed by Fordham in second and Monmouth in third.
  • The Hoyas Club Championship Eights boat finished sixth out of 46 with a time of 13:30.896.

  • Next weekend, the Hoyas will split sites and travel to Fairfax Station, Virginia to race in the Head of the Occoquan on November 5 and Princeton, New Jersey to participate in the Princeton Chase on November 6.
