WASHINGTON – The Georgetown track & field team had two groups of Hoyas competing this weekend at two events on Friday and Saturday. The men had four athletes run in the DMR (distance medley relay) at the JDL DMR Invitational on Friday night in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. On Saturday morning, four women's runners competed in the DMR in South Bend, Indiana at the Alex Wilson Invitational.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Track & Field Assistant Coach Mitchell Baker
"We expected to compete for the win and to qualify for the NCAA meet. We came up short and that stings; sports can humble you, and that's okay. The athletes here believe they're at the NCAA level, and that mindset is hard to build. A setback like today is a good reminder of how hard this sport can be, and we embrace that. We'll learn from this, be ready for BIG EAST's next week, and then make a push to the next level in the spring."

Georgetown is set to compete in the BIG EAST Indoor Championships next weekend, February 25-26, in Chicago, Illinois.
