WASHINGTON – The BIG EAST Conference announced Monday afternoon that Georgetown softball's Kayla Dunn was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after her performance at the Furman Classic over the weekend. This is Dunn's first award of her collegiate career and the team's first for the 2022 season.

• Dunn threw 28 strikeouts over the course of the weekend.

• The freshman threw 14 strikeouts on Saturday alone. 

• The pitcher faced the offense of South Dakota, St. Francis, and Furman at the Classic. 

• She helped to secure three wins for the Blue & Gray with the first against St. Francis on Friday (3-0), the second on Saturday against Furman (4-3), and the third on Sunday over Furman again (3-2).

• This is the North Carolina native's second series in her college career as she helped bring in a win for Georgetown last weekend against East Carolina at the Kickin' Chicken Classic.
