Georgetown Plays Local George Washington in the District

WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball stays in the District this week for its game against local rival George Washington University. The game is set for Wednesday, March 30 at 3 p.m. at the GW Softball Field. The Colonials are 16-10 overall and 9-0 in conference play and the Hoyas are 2-2 in the BIG EAST and 11-13 overall. This is the first time the two sides have faced one another since 2019.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown is sitting in the middle of the BIG EAST standings after going 2-2 in conference games. 
  • The Hoyas' pitchers have ranked the team second in the conference for looking strikeouts with (47) and third for strikeouts with 163.
  • Alyssa Chavez is third in the BIG EAST with a batting average of .380 going 27-for-71 at the plate.
