WASHINGTON – Georgetown men's basketball has announced the addition of Brandon Murray to its 2022-23 roster. Murray will enter the 2022-23 season as a sophomore after spending his freshman season at LSU where he was named to the 2022 SEC All-Freshman Team. Considered by many to be the top transfer in the NCAA portal, the 6-foot-5 guard from Baltimore has three years of eligibility remaining.

- Murray was named to the eight-person 2022 SEC All-Freshman Team following a stellar freshman season with the Tigers.
- He appeared in 33 games, starting 32, and averaged 10.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.9 apg and 1.1 spg.
- Averaging 31.0 mpg, the freshman shot 42.6% (123-289) from the field and 33.6% (40-119) from deep.
- He registered double figures in 16 games during the 2021-22 season with a career-best 21 in a 70-64 win against Texas A&M on January 26.
- Murray registered four games with five or more assists, including a career-best nine helpers in a 76-68 win over Missouri in the SEC Tournament.
- Prior to LSU, Murray played the 2020-21 season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida after his high school career at Poly High in Baltimore.
- Murray averaged 21.7 points in 2019-20 for Poly High, making 65 percent of his overall shots and was named Mr. Basketball in Maryland by the state basketball coaches association.
- A four-star recruit, he was also named Baltimore City Player of the Year.
