Box Score WALDORF, Md. - The Georgetown University baseball team fell 4-1 against Xavier on Friday evening. GU dropped to 22-16 overall with a 4-6 BIG EAST record while the Musketeers jumped to 20-19 with a 3-4 conference record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a pair of scoreless innings, Xavier scored first with a one-run top of the third (1-0).
- McCarthy worked himself out of trouble in the top of the fifth, stranding runners on first and third to keep it at 1-0.
- Ciufo tied the game at one in the home half of the fifth, smashing a solo shot to left center.
- Both teams exchanged blows but neither squad put runs on the board until the Musketeers scored three runs in the top of the ninth to knock off the Hoyas 4-1.

Georgetown will return to Regency Furniture Stadium on Saturday for game two of three against Xavier with first pitch slated for 4 p.m.
