Georgetown Baseball Names Charlie Ludwick as New Assistant Coach

WASHINGTON - Charlie Ludwick has been named to the Georgetown baseball coaching staff, bringing extensive Division I coaching and player development experience to the Hilltop.

Ludwick joins Georgetown after spending the 2025-26 season at Georgia Southern, where he served as an assistant coach and director of scouting and video analysis. In his role, he worked extensively with the Eagles' hitters, leading individual and group instruction while overseeing offensive game planning, scouting and video analysis. He also developed custom scouting reports and video packages for opposing pitchers, led pregame hitters' meetings and assisted with recruiting and roster management.

Prior to Georgia Southern, Ludwick spent two seasons on the coaching staff at his alma mater, Eastern Kentucky. He served as a graduate assistant coach in 2023-24 before becoming a volunteer assistant coach in 2024-25. During his time with the Colonels, he worked primarily with hitters and corner infielders, while assisting with offensive game planning, defensive positioning, recruiting and player development.

Ludwick also gained coaching experience in the New England Collegiate Baseball League with the Valley Blue Sox, serving as an assistant coach in 2024 before returning as the team's full-time hitting coach in 2025 and 2026. He led the team's offense, served as third base coach and worked individually with hitters and pitchers.

A five-year player at Eastern Kentucky, Ludwick appeared in 216 games and made 177 starts during his collegiate career. He helped the Colonels reach the OVC Tournament in 2019 and the ASUN Tournament in 2022 and 2023, while earning conference academic honors multiple times. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in marketing and a minor in sales before earning his MBA in public administration.

"I am excited to welcome Charlie to our organization. I know the value that he's going to bring to our players day in and day out. He's one of the top young hitting coaches in the country, has a wide range of experiences that will provide a great resource for our current and future players. As a former player of mine, he has all the qualities that I look for: competitive, highly skilled and great person. I'm excited to have him join as our new hitting coach." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson

"I am very excited for Charlie Ludwick and Georgetown Baseball!  Charlie is a very diligent worker with strong knowledge and feel for the game. His ability to communicate and connect with players will be a huge asset to the development of players on and off the field." - Georgia Southern Head Coach Rodney Hennon
